Another Giant 52″ Northern Pike Caught and Released!

Ryan has traveled to Wollaston Lake Lodge to enjoy our fishing for the past 10 years. Over those years he has become a very successful fly fisherman and loves to chase our pike. After seeing this super monster, Ryan, his Dad, and our guide decided to keep after the fish for an hour or more. Several follows and increased interest in the red and yellow bunny fly kept them after the fish.  Sighting, casting, loosing track of its location, finding it, presenting the fly, over and over. Even pulling his fly away from a mid-40inch fish who wanted to eat, Ryan persisted and finally got the giant northern pike to commit. After a spectacular fight, the fish was boated and measured, photographed and released. Having another boat nearby to verify the measurement is always helpful when the final measurement was 52″x 21″!!!  The great thing about our 3rd fish at 50″ or better, in 19 days of being open, is that each one came from a different part of the lake. At this pace……well who knows what will happen the rest of our season. Congratulations to Ryan on a fish of a lifetime. We are proud to have been a part of it for you.
